Rethinking Kiting

I've decided to give up kiting. It's just the same old thing, over and over again. It's getting boring.

Lately I've been getting a deeper satisfaction from doing work around my house on weekends. I had a great time replastering and painting my kitchen ceiling even though it took 8 coats of burn-your-throat Kilz to cover the rusty stains from the upstairs bathroom leak.

For whatever reason, my passion for kiting, the excitement, is gone, zip, nada. It has nothing to do with my drysuit being out for repairs, (again!!), or lakes not being frozen enough for snow kiting. And I'm not harboring any feelings of jealousy towards all my ex kiter-friends getting the windy winter sessions whithout me.

I've simply discovered that it's more fullfilling shopping for new toilet seats and regrouting the bathtub. You guys with good drysuits, out on the water, smiling and pretending to be having fun, you don't know what you're missing.

P.S. Don't believe anything I say on this blog.

Ha! You should stop by and help us shrink-wrapping our windows! So much fun.

Marie- Now that's what I'm talking about! Shrink wrapping windows is one of the best ways I know to seize the moment and live life to the fullest! Enjoy.

Anony- Nah, I hate shopping for toilet seats. I'm just pissed that my drysuit is screwed and everyone's getting great sessions without me. I may have to borrow somebody's suit while I'm waiting for mine to return. Thanks for asking. See you on the water soon.

I always lie.

meanwhile there must be any number of parallels between kite rigging and toilet repair...certainly it's important to get it right!

I agree, kiting sucks

Puffin- You lie too?!! So glad to hear it. I hope your toilet seats are doing well.

Jean- Yeah, everyone knows how much you hate kiting.

Phew... I thought the real scooper had been kidnapped. I was about to call in seal team 6. .

Brad- Hey good one, thanks for the thought! Maybe I could steal one of they're seal suits.

George- Mystic makes good stuff but my drysuit is being completely rebuilt. That's why the repair is taking forever.

Which kind of dry suit is it?

Jean- O.S. Systems. They're making me a new suit on warranty. It's hard to wait but I can't really ask for more than that.
